Pierre Ribo Serpent in C with 4 Keys

This instrument might be my favorite in my whole collection. It is a stunning piece of playable artwork built by my friend Pierre Ribo in Belgium. It has 6 tone holes and 4 keys, maple wood wrapped in calf leather hand dyed. I'm stunned by the intonation of this instrument, as it is so stable. The sound is complex and warm with a beautiful core and density that can only be achieved by the unrefined nature of the serpent. It's great fun to play and I try to do so as often as I can. This instrument was built in 2013. I am also a dealer for Ribo serpents, so I encourage you to scope out his section on the "new instrument" page.
